Alternative Dispute Resolution

Many times a less expensive and quicker resolution of our clients' disputes can be achieved through mandatory negotiation, mediation or arbitration.  Many of our litigators are experienced in handling mediations and arbitrations.  Our transactional lawyers can provide advice on the appropriate dispute resolution clauses to include in your contracts.  Two of our lawyers are certified Louisiana mediators and one is listed on the AAA arbitrators roster and on the specialized AAA Energy Panel for Arbitrators.

Representative Matters

  • Representation of a large integrated energy company in connection with its demand upon a multi-national natural gas pipeline manufacturer for breach of contract related to the manufacture and sale of defective 42 inch pipe, which was discovered by the energy company after installation of the pipeline that traversed North Louisiana.  Work included advising the energy company throughout the demand process, the filing of litigation, and the successful mediation in favor of the energy company.
For more information, please contact:  David R. Taggart, Kay C. Medlin, or Brad E. Wilkerson
  • Served as a mediator and reached settlement between two large oil and gas companies in a multimillion dollar dispute over ownership of acreage in the Haynesville Shale formation in Northwest Louisiana.
