COMPREHENSIVE
Jerry Jones is a partner with Bradley Murchison in the Shreveport, Louisiana office. He received his undergraduate degree from Louisiana Tech University in 1980 and his Juris Doctor from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University in 1983. He maintains a broad-based civil practice, assisting clients with contract negotiations and disputes, all aspects of local and state governmental regulation, and litigation.
Mr. Jones has worked on behalf of the Louisiana Oil and Gas Association in the negotiation of favorable pipeline right-of-way and construction permit agreements with the City of Shreveport. He has also represented private pipeline clients before the City of Shreveport, and Bossier, Caddo, and DeSoto Parish governing authorities in the negotiation of noise and road repair regulations. He also frequently handles pipeline and producer issues before the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality.
Mr. Jones' areas of practice are governmental relations; local, state, and federal regulation; zoning; environmental regulation; cyberspace law; telecommunications law; utility and municipal franchise agreements; public works; contract negotiation and administration; business litigation; energy, oil & gas; and public utility law.
Mr. Jones is listed in the 2012 edition of The Best Lawyers in America® in the areas of Environmental Litigation and Municipal Litigation. Mr. Jones served as City Attorney for the City of Shreveport for eight years. He is currently a member of the American Bar Association, Louisiana State Bar Association, Shreveport Bar Association, Louisiana City Attorneys Association (past president and board of directors), and is a continuing fellow of the Louisiana Bar Foundation. He serves on the boards of the Mothers Against Drugs (chairman); Norwela Council of the Boy Scouts (past president); Governor Jindal's Government and Fiscal Reform Transition Committee; and the Louisiana Board of Commerce and Industry (vice chairman). He is a member of the Louisiana Mid-Continent Oil and Gas Association Public Affairs Committee and the Harry V. Booth and Henry Politz American Inns of Court (Master).
